PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Project Design workshop

The Somalia national ID will play a critical role in supporting humanitarian efforts by streamlining aid distribution and ensuring resources reach people in need. The project aims to create a trusted citizen-centric ID ecosystem that supports secure, transparent, and efficient service delivery across Somalia.

With a strong focus on data privacy, accessibility, and inclusion, the project will build trust between the government and citizens while fostering partnerships with stakeholders.

Vocalise Africa in collaboration with the Center for Governance Insights successfully conducted a project design workshop in Mogadishu which brought together key stakeholders in developing a Civic Education and Outreach programme supporting Somalia’s National ID Registration and Identification System.

Participants included representatives from National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), women’s and youth groups as well as members of marginalized communities. The workshop provided a platform for inclusive dialogue and collective input to enhance outreach strategies and improve access to national identification.

Through this civic education and outreach initiative the project aims to build trust in the national ID system and contribute to the development of a transparent, inclusive and efficient identification framework that strengthens humanitarian and governance efforts across Somalia.
