We use interactive Radio Features to communicate stories of impact to the community. Through partnerships with local radio stations, we provide platforms to subject experts, influential and opinion leaders and members of the community to discuss and provide people-centered solutions.

Vocalise Africa uses Radio Magazines to address topical issues. This format allows for the use of a mixture of formats such as live interviews, spoken word, drama etc. We curate content using these formats to drive engaging conversations in areas such as healthcare, women empowerment among others.

Our Radio talk shows are primarily centered on topical conversation with the listening audience. Vocalise Africa uses a hybrid format featuring a mixture of elements such as sound bites, question-and-answer sessions, phone-call conversation and individual storytelling in communicating impactful stories.
Vocalise Africa is dedicated to transforming communities through interactive radio methodology. Using Vocalise Africa Spin Wheel Radio Methodology, we produce and broadcast carefully curated radio programs in both mainstream and vernacular languages via partner radio stations, ensuring wide accessibility and cultural relevance.
Audiences actively participate by sending SMS messages through a free short code. These responses are captured in Vocalise Africa’s robust data infrastructure. Our skilled team of researchers then analyzes this data to extract insights from community-led conversations. The findings are used to craft compelling narratives and evidence-based reports that are shared with policymakers and power holders, helping to inform decisions and shape impactful policies.
Working closely with community radio stations broadcasting in local languages, Vocalise Africa creates inclusive platforms that amplify the voices of marginalized and underserved populations ensuring no one is left behind. Our SMS driven approach allows for the collection of large volumes of data, enabling citizens to express their views on a wide range of pressing issues.
We also facilitate Radio Listening Groups consisting of people from the marginalized communities such as refugees, women, youth and persons with disabilities. These groups listen to pre-recorded radio programs, after which our trained moderators lead discussions with participants, community leaders and decision-makers to explore practical solutions to the issues raised.
Over time, Vocalise Africa has partnered with local communities to co-create solutions that enhance access to sexual and reproductive health services, combat gender-based violence, promote gender equality and social inclusion, address climate change and strengthen community participation in education, skills development and livelihood opportunities.
