
The overall objective of this Project was to reduce violence against girls and women by using Community Radio Theatre as a powerful tool for awareness creation, behavior change, and community engagement.
Specific Objectives:
To produce and broadcast engaging community radio theatre programs that educate listeners about different forms of violence against girls and women, including physical, emotional, sexual, and economic abuse.
Challenge harmful cultural norms, gender stereotypes, and social practices that contribute to violence against girls and women through relatable storytelling and local language performances.
Increase community awareness of legal rights, protection mechanisms, and available support services for survivors of violence.
Promote positive masculinity and encourage men and boys to actively participate in preventing violence and supporting gender equality.
Create safe spaces for community dialogue through interactive radio sessions, listener call-ins, and post-broadcast discussions.
Empower girls and women with knowledge, confidence, and information that enables them to speak out, seek help, and protect themselves from abuse.
Strengthen collaboration between community leaders, local organizations, schools, and law enforcement in responding to and preventing violence against girls and women
